That one time we thought we had a ghost ...

Do you believe in ghosts?

We wouldn’t say we’re “ghost hunters” but we’re open to the idea of the super natural.

Well, today, Thursday December 31st, 2015, at about 2:30pm, we had something’s our account…

My husband and I own D’Tutanelli’s Pizza, and I stopped in at the pizza shop to do a last minute task while I was out running errands. I was inside for 10 minutes or so, with my mom and our son, Max, waiting in the car.

When I came out and got in the car my mom very adamantly and sternly said “listen to what he’s telling you before you move the car.”

We were parked facing the rear entrance of the shop, our ‘employee’ entrance if you will, so I started to listen to my son. He begins telling me a story about a ‘string guy’ and I’m listening and he’s talking about the “guy hanging from the rope by the pizza shop”…our son is 3.

He is a good boy, with no influences of what that kind of image would look like, nor has he ever spoken like this before. He’s not imaginative in the regard of making up stuff, and if he does, it’s about puppy dogs and kitty cats or blasting off to Mars, not “a guy hanging from a rope”.

So, he continues to talk and he’s pointing to the area in the picture below. So, I ask him questions like “What’s the rope attached to?”…he replies “the metal thingy.” I ask him if I can take him out of the car and he can show me better what he’s talking about. He says “no, if you get too close it will vanish”. I ask him “what does that mean to you?’ He says, vanish means “if you get too close it will disappear.” We went on like this for about 10 minutes and then he says “I just want to go home now, let’s leave.”

So, we do, the whole time I’m thinking maybe I’m overacting, so we pull back and I ask my mom if we’re on the same page and she’s like yes, I wanted you to hear that because it was freaking me out. We pull out of the parking lot, and now that I don’t think I’m completely crazy, I pull to the stop sign at the 5 corners, and I ask Max “what was the other end of the rope attached to?” He says “His neck.”

We’re gonna leave that right there for you to chew on a bit…

We’re going to kick this to the Amherst Historical Society to see if we can get some feedback on the history of our building after the New Year.

We did reach out to the Amherst Historical Society shortly after this post was created and they were unable to find any conclusive records corroborating this incident to our location.

We also met with a couple of people from Tri-City Ghost Hunters. They took readings and had a lot of information. They also were interested in doing an overnight stay in the Amherst location to see if they could pick anything up. We declined. We were content with the ending the discussion at the conclusion of the meeting.
